Your primer on Squid and swapping cross-chain

How does Squid Work?

Squid is a cross-chain liquidity router that allows anyone with a crypto wallet to swap their assets between blockchains and access applications across chains.

Upon initiating a swap, Squid efficiently identifies the most liquid path, streamlining the journey from point A to point B for your assets. This optimization ensures a smoother and more reliable swapping experience.

There are two main ways of accessing Squid:

1. Squid’s app: Visit app.squidrouter.com to get started.

2. Developer Tools: For developers looking to integrate sophisticated, secure, and seamless cross-chain functionality into their platforms, Squid offers an API, SDK and swap widget.

Whether you're executing a simple swap or integrating cross-chain capabilities into a product, Squid provides the tools and infrastructure you need to access the whole of crypto.

Squid is primaily built on Axelar Network - a blockchain that connects blockchains, enabling universal Web3 interoperability through token bridging and general message passing. The network is secured using proof-of-stake consensus, and messages are routed and translated using permissionless protocols.
